William A. Rasmussen is a native of Hancock County, growing up in LaHarpe, Illinois. He graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1993. He attended the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. While there, he participated in many extracurricular activities including playing golf on the varsity golf team.

In spring 1996, Mr. Rasmussen attended Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. During that semester, he traveled to many different countries. He was able to fulfill a lifetime dream by playing 36 holes at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland.

In the summer of 1996, Mr. Rasmussen was an intern for the late Senator Paul Simon in Washington D.C. He worked on the late Senator’s Labor and Human Resources Committee staff and worked on such projects as raising the minimum wage, the Team Act, and ERISA.

Mr. Rasmussen is a 1997 graduate from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. He minored in political science.

In the fall of 1997, he enrolled at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and graduated in May 2000. Bill passed the Illinois Bar Examination in July 2000 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2000. He also passed the Missouri Bar Examination and was admitted into the Missouri Bar in April 2001. He was admitted to the Federal Bar in November 2000.

Mr. Rasmussen became an Associate at Capps, Ancelet & Clark in August 2000. In January 2003 he became a partner of Capps, Ancelet, Clark & Rasmussen. He has handled all types of cases, including dissolution of marriage, custody, criminal defense, and medical malpractice. He also handles many other miscellaneous matters that invariably arise in a General Practice setting.

Mr. Rasmussen is single and lives in Carthage. He is an avid golfer, and is a member of the Carthage Kiwanis Club. He serves on the Hancock County Health Department Board of Directors. He is also an assistant

basketball coach for the Carthage Blueboys and helps with the Blueboy Football Program. He enjoys all sports, traveling and keeping in touch with his friends.
